March for Life 2014 in different cities
|Among the cities in which the „March for Life” in 22 and 23 March 2014 was organized are Alba Iulia, Arad, Bacau, Bucharest, Buzau, Cluj, Deva, Fălticeni, Galati, Giurgiu, Iasi, Satu Mare, Suceava, Tg. Jiu Tg. Mures, Targoviste, Tulcea.
ALBA IULIA
Approximately 200 young people, parents and children participated Saturday at the ” March for Life” in Alba Iulia. ” A child is a gift from God, not a choice”, ” Doctor tell Mom to give me life”, „Mom thank you for my life!”, „To be a voice for the voiceless ” are just some of the messages the participants wanted to give to the people.
ARAD
According to www.aradon.ro over 300 participants of all ages were presented Saturday against abortion demonstration organized by the „Monk Arsenie Boca ” and ” Brancoveanu” Associations, both from Arad.
BACĂU
Saturday morning, starting at 11am, St. Nicholas Catholic Parish with the Deanship of Bacau, organized a new edition of the ‘March for Life’ attended by more than 2.000 people says www.ziaruldebacau.ro. „We are pro life. We hope that one day love will defeat, death will cease to exist. We believe in ourselves, we believe in you ; Now let us sing! ” sang the young people, and also many families with children, some in wheelchairs. When a journalist asked a young girl if she will perform an abortion, she promptly replied: „No, never!” The politicians responded positively to invitations to participate in this major event. Among others, the Mayor of Bacau – Romeo Stavarache, Mihai Sustac – Vice President of the County Council – Benea Dragos, Ionel Palar, Dan Sova, Cosmin Necula – MPs were present.
BUCHAREST
About a thousand people marched from Union Square to Youth Park from the Capital at the event organized to support adoption as a solution to protect the children born from mothers in difficulties, mentioned Mediafax.
Between 16.00h – 18.00h took place a Concert of support in Parcul Tineretului with the artists: Vlad Miriță, Alexandra Ușurelu, Bogdan Vlădău, Anthony Icuagu (Vocea României), Vlad Stoia (Vocea României), Beatrice Vlădan (Vocea României), Caitlyn and Ioana Picos.
BUZĂU
Led by the priests from Buzau parishes, the March for Life in Buzau gatheredhundreds of people in Crang Park, at „Holy Martyr Filofteia” church. The choice of this location was not random, because Holy Filofteia, who passed away at only 12 years old is considered the protector of children and young people. The event was organized by the Archdiocese of Buzau and Vrancea, together with the Foundation for Children „Saint Sava ” in collaboration with the General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection and with the support of Buzau County Police Inspectorate.
CLUJ
The Organizations from Cluj-Napoca who campaigned to defend life in March 22, 2014are Clinica Pro Vita, Life Fm, Life Nations, joined by the youth associations, ASTRU from Romanian Church United with Rome, Greek – Catholic and ASCOR of the Romanian Orthodox Church. The 1,500 participants gathered in Union Square listening to the word, prayer and blessing of Archbishop Andrei Andreicut, Archbishop and Metropolitan of the Orthodox Church, accompanied by PS Vasile Someşeanul, vicar. Concluding remarks and blessing for the march start through the city came from PS Florentin Crihălmeanu, Greek Catholic Bishop of Cluj- Gherla. The action was a moment of communion between churches, organizations, joined by the firm belief that life has to be defended.
DEVA
At Deva, the event was organized by the ” Genesis Life” Association with the Romanian Orthodox Episcopate and the Baptist Church „Holy Trinity”. The March was attended by around 150 people including representatives from Deva Mother Centre, Hungarian Church, School Inspectorate, the General Directorate for Social Assistance and Child Protection, National Red Cross Society.
FĂLTICENI
Friday, March 21, around 13 o’clock, several hundred students from schools and colleges of Fălticeni attended the ” March for Life 2014″, event organized by the Deep Bucovina Association and Falticeni Cultural Association.
GALAŢI
With God’s help the „March for Life” held in Galati, Saturday, March 22, 2014, was successfully completed. On a beautiful spring day, young people, children, parents, mothers and babies, gladly took part in the march, which remind us that God gives life to humans from conception and the embryo is a person in all its fullness.
GIURGIU
Saturday, March 22, starting at 4PM, with the blessing and presence of the Reverend Father Ambrozie, Bishop of Giurgiu, at Annunciation Church in Giurgiu took place the „March for Life 2014. Adoption – a noble choice” organized by the Romanian Orthodox Christian Youth League, Giurgiu branch.
IASI
March 23, 2014 in front of the Palace of culture of Iaşi the participants formed a heart from candles in the memory of all aborted children in Romania. „I advice all young mothers to give birth to children, and not to perform abortion, ” said a participant. „We know that in Romania there is not a culture of adoption and we try, somehow, to make the world more sensitive. Adoption is a hard solution at the moment, ” said Dragos Branza, representative. In 2013 only 2,500 adoption procedures were opened, considering 60,000 abandoned children.
SATU MARE
In Satu Mare we could read „Mom, thank you for giving me life!”, „We are the generation of life” or „True doctors do not kill children”. These are some of the slogans written on the banners of those who attended the ” March for Life”, March 22. The action initiated by the ” Pro Life for Born and Unborn ” and „Holy Protection of the Mother of God ” Associations in Satu Mare reached this year the fourth edition.
SUCEAVA
Suceava hosted Sunday, 23 March, a peaceful protest, a group of about 200 people who marched through the city, both children and adults wearing placards condemning abortion in all its forms. „Say No to abortion,” ” Life begins at conception”, „Abortion does not make you non-pregnant, abortion makes you the mother of a dead child”, „Contraceptives are abortifacients” or „Not to wear seat belt is illegal.“

Târgu Jiu
Dozens of participants gathered for the „March for Life” organized by Pro Life Gorj, ASCOR Targu Jiu and Vasiliada Targu Jiu, the largest public event for life protection. In 2014, the theme of the march was one about adoption. The organizers emphasized that in our country there is no culture in this regard.
TÂRGU MUREŞ
The third edition of the March for Life was held Saturday, March 22, in Targu Mures, this year’s theme is „To be a voice for the voiceless.” On a warm spring sunny weather with happy souls, dozens of parents and children have marched against abortion, that sin with dramatic consequences for our society. The event was a good opportunity to support the traditional, strong, healthy and prosperous family.
Tulcea
Approximately 350 people attended Sunday the „March for life”, the second edition in Tulcea. The event was organized by the Pro Life Association, in partnership with the support of Tulcea Diocese, ASCOR and the Alliance of Romania’s Families. The initiators of the march wanted to draw attention to the children’s right to life from conception, while promoting adoption. „Losing his aim, the family falls apart easily, fact confirmed by official statistics which show that last year in Romania 35 000 families separated,” said Professor Olimpia Popa, representative of Pro Life Tulcea.
